It’s time to nut up or shut up.
Fans have been waiting ten years for another chapter with Columbus, Tallahassee, Wichita and Little Rock, and now they’re in luck, as the trailer for Zombieland: Double Tap dropped yesterday and it looks juicy.
We last saw our anti-heroes a they drove off out of Pacific Playland, Tallahassee with his Twinky and Columbus with the family he’d always been missing. Now we’re picking up with the gang ten years after the last outing, and some things seem to have changed.
Obviously Little Rock, played by Abigail Breslin, has grown up from the 12/13 year old she was in the first movie, and seems to be developing some love interest in Berkley, a bad boy with a big bad of weed.
Tensions might be rising between Columbus and Wichita also, as new girl Maddison joins the group and disrupts the tried and tested dynamic.
All major cast members are returning for the sequel (we never saw Bill Murray get double tapped so he might make an appearance also), despite having mostly had very successful careers since the original Zombieland.
Jesse Eisenberg (Columbus) made his name playing Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network. Emma Stone has gradually elevated into Hollywood’s A-list, first through her breakout scene in Superbad then Easy A etc. Harrelson’s career began back in the 80s, but he’s recently shot to stardom through roles in The Hunger Games and 2012. Breslin hasn’t recently had the same success as the rest, with her career never fully transitioning from child star to adult actor.
Zombieland is released on 18 October 2019
