If The Hangover has taught us anything, it’s that 99% of people you’re looking for can be located on the closest rooftop or in the nearest ceiling. This was especially true when police visited a property in Manchester, England, to pick up a wanted suspect they believed to be at a party there.

Obviously nobody likes a crasher, but after a few shouts of “Police!” the front door was opened and boys in blue were let in. Mysteriously at this point, one member of the party had vanished, and he just so happened to be the lad that police were interested in chatting to. Who’d have thought?

Once the police were inside and they’d noticed their man was missing, creaks started to sound from the ceiling, and before long a leg had broken through, almost on top of a stunned policeman.

Matty, from Rochdale, Manchester, said: “We heard a cracking and the police said, ‘Who’s in the roof?’

“The next thing, a foot comes in and the plaster comes down and almost hits the copper on the head.

“There was no way out and he came down when they went to get him, there was no way out so he just gave up.

“We were all having a laugh about it, I don’t know what the coppers thought of it.”

I suppose he didn’t really have a leg to stand on…
