Roundabouts are one of the harder parts of learning to drive, but driver Ryan Lamb seems to have really misunderstood how they work.
The unemployed 18 year old (17 at the time of the crash) was filmed driving his Berlingo van to Sundown music festival at the Norfolk Showground, when he approached the ‘Stag’ roundabout near Attleborough with a little too much enthusiasm, and went flying over the top.
Fortunately Lamb and his two passengers escaped with minimal injury, walking away with only cuts and bruises. That doesn’t mean he’s escaped the law however…
In court this week Lamb was disqualified from driving or obtaining a license for 12 months, was ordered to do an extended retest, pay £310 to the CPS, complete 80 hours of community service and pay £85 victim surcharge.
Sentencing him, chairman of the bench Jim Agnew said: ‘Your driving fell far below the expected standard of competent and careful driving.’
I’d say that’s an understatement.
