It was about 5pm in Golders Green, North London on Thursday when Mesut Ozil and Sead Kolasinac’s car was attacked by two masked men on mopeds. A witness said they were carrying roof tiles, probably looking to smash them through the car windows. But no one would have foreseen what would happen next.
Not known for his defending, Sead Kolasinac was caught on CCTV jumping out the car and fighting off the attackers. But Mesut Ozil never showed up. Luckily neither of the Arsenal players were harmed as well as Ozil’s wife Amine who also was unharmed thanks to Kolasinac’s bravery.
The players then sought refugee at a Turkish restaurant where they were spoken to by police. Then Bosnian full back posted a picture of the pair on twitter yesterday captioned “Think we’re fine”. Thankfully no one was harmed and we all hope the attackers are brought to justice.
